Arthur William Curtis, MD

Evanston, Illinois

Dr. Curtis lives in Evanston, Illinois. He has been on staff at Illinois Masonic Medical Center since 1978, at Children’s Memorial Hospital since 1982, and served as a Consultant at Shriners Hospital for Children since 1988, all in Chicago. He received a BS from Northwestern University in the Honors Program in Medical Education and an MD at Northwestern University School of Medicine, followed by an Internship in Straight surgery at Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital (now Northwestern Memorial Hospital). Dr. Curtis’ residencies were a year in General Surgery and then three years in Otolaryngology and Maxillofacial Surgery through Northwestern University.

He has been certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology since 1976. Dr. Curtis was a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corp where he served as Chief of Otolaryngology at Reynolds Army Hospital at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Dr. Curtis’ has been regularly included in Top Doctors: Chicago Metro Area. His memberships in medical societies include the American Medical Association, Illinois State Medical Society, Chicago Medical Society, Chicago Laryngological and Otological Society, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the American Rhinologic Society.

Over the years Dr. Curtis has presented at many national meetings and in academic settings as a guest lecturer and formal teacher. His teaching appointments have included Northwestern University Medical School, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Assistant Professor, Clinical, 1982 to 1994, Instructor as of September 1, 1978, and Northwestern University Dental School, Cleft Lip & Palate Institute-Assistant Professor, November 1, 1982, to May 30, 2001. In 1969 he married Judy Stevenson Curtis, R.N., B..A. and together they have three adult children.
